📖 BelmonteSL — User Guide
Everything you need to know about getting the most out of the community platform. Whether you've just registered or you're looking to dig into a specific feature, this guide has you covered.
Creating an account is free and takes under a minute. Head to /register and fill in a username and password — everything else is optional.
Linking your Second Life account is optional but unlocks the full experience — XP, visit tracking, achievements, and your SL profile picture all depend on it.
Option A — Register inworld (easiest):
Touch the registration object on any of our parcels. It creates your web account automatically and links your avatar in one step. You'll receive a login token in local chat.
Option B — Paste your UUID on the web:
Find your UUID in your viewer under Me → About (it looks like xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx), then paste it into Account → Settings.
Experience points (XP) are earned by spending time on our inworld parcels. The longer you visit, the more you earn. XP fuels your level, unlocks achievements, and puts you on the leaderboard.
- Dwell time — XP is awarded automatically while you are present on a parcel.
- Events — Special events may award bonus XP to participants.
- Achievements — Some achievements grant an XP reward on completion.
Achievements are milestones you unlock by doing things inworld and on the site. Each achievement has a name, description, and an optional XP reward. Check your progress on your dashboard.
The public leaderboard at /leaderboard ranks members by total XP. It updates in real time as you earn. Top the board by spending more time on the parcels and completing achievements.
Upload photos from your Second Life adventures and share them with the community. The gallery is accessible from the sidebar under Gallery & Media once your role has gallery access.
Organise your photos into named albums via Albums in the sidebar. You can create as many albums as you like, pick a cover photo, and set access controls per album.
Each photo has a unique share link you can copy from the edit modal or the lightbox. Anyone with the link can view that photo — no account required.
| Setting | Who can see it |
|---|---|
| Public gallery | All members with gallery access, visible in the community feed |
| Not in gallery | Only you (and anyone with the direct share link) |
| Album — open | Any member with gallery access |
| Album — password | Anyone who enters the correct password |
| Album — allowlist | Only members you've explicitly added |
The Radio page (/radio) lists all community DJ streams. No account required — it's open to everyone.
- A green Live badge means the DJ is broadcasting right now.
- Click any stream card to open the DJ profile — you'll see the current track, listener count, their schedule, a 7-day activity heatmap, session history, and past recordings.
- Hit Play Live in the profile to listen directly in your browser.
- Browse Recordings to listen back to past sets.
- The page refreshes live data every 30 seconds automatically.
The Connections feature lets you create a dating or social listing so other members can find and reach out to you. Access it from Dashboard → My Listing.
- Write a short bio describing yourself and what you're looking for.
- Add interests, relationship type preferences, and your inworld availability.
- Your listing appears in /connections for other members to browse.
- You can pause or delete your listing at any time from the dashboard.
Your public profile lives at /u/your-username. Other members can see your bio, gallery photos, public albums, and XP level.
- Go to Account → Settings to upload a profile picture and write a bio (up to 500 characters).
- If your SL UUID is linked, your Second Life profile picture is used as a fallback avatar automatically.
- Photos you've added to the public gallery appear in the photos section of your profile.
- You can edit your profile display name via Dashboard → Edit Profile.
Make sure your Second Life UUID is linked in Account → Settings. XP is credited to your avatar UUID — if it isn't connected to your web account yet, the XP sits unlinked until you add it.
When you register inworld, you receive a one-time login token in local chat. Use that to log in at /login, then set a permanent password in Account → Settings. If you've lost the token, contact an admin.
Open My Uploads, click Edit on the photo, and make sure Show in gallery is toggled on. Photos also need a share token — if the toggle is greyed out, the photo may not have been shared yet.
These features are role-gated. Your account needs the appropriate role assigned by an admin before the sidebar links and pages become available.
Account deletion is handled by an admin. Reach out inworld or via the community Discord and a team member will process it for you.
